Decorate gifts this holiday season with ribbon, bows, and foliage!

The holidays are upon us! And that means, wrapping presents…but where to begin? We’ve come up with some fun and creative ways to incorporate foliage from your garden or container-planted Southern Living® Plants into gift wrapping.

Supplies

Make a one-stop-shop at your favorite craft store and pick up supplies for wrapping all your gifts. This could include (but is not limited to) boxes, string and ribbon. Then, go out into your garden and gather clippings of your favorite plants that will be festive for holiday gift wrapping.

Smaller Gifts

If you’re looking to wrap smaller gifts, such as jewelry or gift cards, small boxes are a great choice. Tie thin string or ribbon around a small box into a simple bow, and add in fresh clipped foliage underneath. We chose a smaller clipping of Yewtopia® Plum Yew, which will last well.

Bigger Gifts

For larger gifts, it’s fun to get creative with ribbons and bows! One idea is to tie thick, sparkled ribbon around your gift box into a neat bow, and tuck in clippings of Oakland™ Holly and plastic berries for added flair. A second idea is to mix-and-match ribbons, place a bow on top, and then tuck in your foliage as desired.

The holidays are fun, and giving presents to loved ones is a joyful part of the season! Go that extra step and get creative with clippings from your Southern Living® garden plants.
