Plant Combinations: Lofty and Lively ‘Orange Rocket’ Container

  1. Home
  2. Plant Combinations: Lofty and Lively ‘Orange Rocket’ Container
  • By Kim Toscano
  • August 6, 2019
Energize container plantings with vertical movement and upright structure.

This container combination travels skyward along the clean lines of Clarity Blue™ Dianella and columnar form of ‘Orange Rocket’ Barberry. The wide blades and vibrant hue of Clarity Blue™ draw the eye upward, providing textural and color contrast to a focal point of ‘Orange Rocket’. Bright spikes of Dark Blue Moody Blues™ Veronica reinforce the rising motion and echo blue tones. All that energy requires a gentle resolution. ‘Everlite’ EverColor® Carex provides the perfect counteraction, with thin blades gently spilling toward the earth. Complementary colors and an abundance of texture combine for a dynamic display. Watch for butterflies flitting about the veronica in this low-maintenance combo.
