By adding these lush centerpieces to each table, you’ll have everyone – from front to back – feeling like the guest of honor. Traditionally a centerpiece is placed in a vessel, vase, etc. This centerpiece, however, is a lush garland of mixed foliage intertwined between lace linen, vintage silver, and Juliska china. The clean, crisp palette of green makes a lovely foundation for any other decor you wish to include.

We could not resist adding some blooms to our garland, though. But, don’t let the word “garland” skew your vision of a spring time celebration – it is simply a way of creating a tablescape that is both visually captivating and big day budget friendly!

How to create a reception tablescape:

Step 1: Snip 20 clippings (4"-6" each) of each plant listed above.

Step 2: Soak in a bucket of water for at least an hour. This will keep the foliage fresh and green.

Step 3: While the foliage is soaking, set your table with linen, china, and silver.

Step 4: Place sprigs of the Early Bird™ Lavender Crapemyrtle in the shape of a runner.

Step 5: Add Rainbow Sensation® Weigela in layers. (Tip: This is meant to be simple, so don’t spend too much time trying to make it look perfect.)

Step 6: Fill in the gaps with Rosalinda® Indian Hawthorne and Mojo® Pittosporum.

(Tip: We created a winding effect down the center of table by alternating the placement of the greenery by moving it a few inches to the left and then the right.)

When the finished product is on display, your guests will not believe that it only cost your time. Don’t stop at centerpieces, though. Using greenery throughout your design will create a clean and consistent foundation for the rest of your decor.

Clippings of greenery look great in a chandelier made of vintage, glass bottles. You can also carry the layered look onto your china by offsetting a sprig of Rainbow Sensation® Weigela. For one more special touch, drape sprigs tied with ribbon over the back of your guests’ chairs.
