We have found the perfect gift for the bird-loving friend in your life!

We have found the perfect gift for the bird-loving friend in your life!

If you know someone who enjoys watching birds chirp, hop, and flutter around in the garden then our gift basket for the gardening guru is exactly what they need!

Maybe their green thumb is not yet green so all the more reason to create a basket of gardening goodies, including some plants from the collection.

Try to find a basket with some old, southern charm.

Your friend will adore the arrangement and the thoughtfulness that went into making it. Also, the opportunity to create their own bird-friendly environment will give their Christmas a little extra cheer.

After all, if they love birds and birds love gardens, this gift should be as successful as it is easy!

Step 1: Find a large basket with character. The bigger the better!

Line the bottom of the basket with paper bags and then fill 1/4 of the basket with crumbled-up paper bags. This adds height to the content of the basket and allows you to position them however you’d like.

Step 2: Pick your favorite plants from our collection.  We chose Mojo® Pittosporum, Baby Gem Boxwood and Yewtopia® Plum Yew.

The bigger the basket, the more you can add.

Place the largest plant in the center and then work your way around the center adding the other smaller plants.

Step 3: Tie the bird seed bell to the handle of the bird basket

Step 5: To give the arrangement that special holiday touch, add a colorful ribbon to the handle

Take it a step further and add:

•  A bird feeder

•  20" container

•  Shepherd’s hook

•  Bag of soil

• The garden recipe included below (Print and place in basket)

Container Garden Recipe:

Step 1: Fill the bottom of your container with the pots from the plants that you are going to use. Simply turn them over and place them in the bottom of the pot.

Step 2: Fill the container with soil.  Leave two inches from the top of the container and do not fill this area with soil.

Step 3: Choose one of the plants from your gift basket and place it in the center of the pot.

Step 4: Collect 30 pinecones and top dress the soil and arrange them around the plant.

Step 5: Center the Shepherd's hook and insert it into the soil.

Step 6: Hang the bird feeder on the Shepherd's hook and enjoy!

A gardening gift basket may seem a tad eccentric for a Christmas present, but your nature-loving friend is going to appreciate how thoughtful and original it is!

This break from impersonal, boring buys will also make your gift-giving experience more rewarding.

So start looking for the perfect basket and get ready to create a gift worth giving for your loved ones and all their fluttering friends!
