Day 12: Nutcrackers Drumming

This last gift is for you and your home!

Keep the “drummers drumming” this holiday season with a selection of nutcrackers drumming on your sideboard, mantle or anywhere you’d like to place them in your home for holiday cheer!

This time of year I love to place collections of nutcrackers around our home and fill the bases with Christmas greenery and décor.

The nutcrackers come to life with the Christmas spirit and your guests will love how you’ve created a wonderful holiday scene with all the different sizes.

Instuctions:

Step 1: Arrange your nutcrackers where they will live all season long.  Stagger your nutcrackers with the largest ones toward the back and smallest ones toward the front.

Step 2: Fill your vases with water

Step 3: Gather 10 clippings of Yewtopia® Plum Yew  and hold together in your hand. Tie a rubber band around the bottom of the stems.  This is my trick for keeping a bunch of greenery together so it looks nice and tight in a vase.

The beauty of this is that it will last all season long since your greenery is in water. Just remember to keep the vases filled!

Step 4: Repeat this step above for all of your clippings.

Step 5: Arrange your greenery in the vases

Step 6: Place your vases in between the nutcrackers at the base

Step 7: Fill in the empty spaces with glass ornaments, nuts and shells to add sparkle.

Your guests will be delighted to see your collection of nutcrackers all dressed up with the Southern Living Plant Collection.

*For additional sparkle, be sure to add in candles at night to give your scene that extra glow!
