Day 9: Neighbor-Ladies Dancing

Day in and day out, rain or shine your gate stands there and waits patiently without a fuss.

With this next project, you can give your gate a reason to stand tall while proudly marking the entrance of your home.

This swag can also be used for a mailbox. It is an effortless way to create a warm and inviting entryway for your home this holiday season.

Don’t be surprised if you catch your "Neighbor-Ladies Dancing" their way down the street after seeing your elegant entrance.

Step 1: Measure the top portion of your gate or mailbox. You want your swag to drape on each side.

Step 2: Place your garland on a flat surface and untwine the garland, stretching out each piece.

Step 3: Tip: Wire all of your larger pieces of foliage first and then add your smaller pieces

Step 4: Start with your pine and wrap two pieces of wired foliage around the stem.  Continue this around the entire piece of garland.

Step 5: Next add the cryptomeria and the Frazier fir.

Step 6: Hang your swag on the gate or over the mailbox with a piece of floral wire

Step 7: Fill in the empty spaces with Yewtopia® Plum Yew and Oakland™ Holly.

Step 8: Lastly, add the bright red nandina berries towards the top of the garland and place the magnolia pods throughout. This gives your swag the finished look that everyone will adore!

Now that your gate or mailbox is styled to perfection you can sit back, relax and enjoy the show as envious neighbors make their way down the street to admire its flair.

Soak up all the praise!

You can also surrender to the spirit of giving and make your neighbors their very own swag. They make an excellent gift and all the other neighbors will confess that yours is the best dressed!
